The Office of Instructional Technology is pleased to offer online professional learning opportunities for classroom teachers!  CRUISE is a series of campus study groups (submitted by principals) who are learning to integrate technology and 21st learning skills into classroom practices.

 

THE CRUISE PROGRAM

The CRUISE Program is a series of classroom technology integration studies that is offered to campus groups, composed of professional teaching staff.

 

 

CRUISE PARTICIPANTS WILL

  • Complete a specified online course both for the content and to participate in a meaningful online learning environment
  • Attend CRUISE meetings schedules by the Office of Instructional Technology

  • Create and share a technology integration project/resource for use by the District and teachers

 

 

WHO CAN PARTICIPATE IN CRUISE? 

Only campus groups of twelve active teaching professionals are eligible to participate.  Usually, an invitation period is extended to all campus principals, periodically, to self-nominate their campuses.

WHAT ARE THE EXPECTATIONS OF THE PROGRAM?

Each CRUISE member gives:

  • Stellar participation in the LoTi online course, including completion of a project/lesson/portfolio, as described and completed during the course.
  • A copy of their finished project/lesson/portfolio to the District for web posting and use by other teachers.
  • Attendance at three face to face sessions.
  • Honest and sincere efforts to integrate technology into the classroom in order to prepare our students for the 21st century.

 

WHAT ARE THE INCENTIVES FOR PARTICIPATION? 

Each CRUISE member gets:

  • Paid enrollment in an online, professional learning course through LoTi and three "face to face" sessions with Instructional Technology & Learning Services staff. 
  • A new Dell Latitude 2100 netbook for use in the classroom.
  • Fabulous new teaching strategies and understanding of our learners' preferences and needs.
